Healthy Bowls for the Super Bowl

Are sport fans ready yet?   Super Bowl is here.  Super Bowl-mania is an icon of the American culture. Not only in United States, in many other parts of the globe the Super Bowl is being watched.  It is a time to get together, involving big screen TVs, sports bars, friends, family and snacks among many other things.   Speaking of food, what a better way to enjoy the game with delicious and healthy snacks for all the fun!  When at home; here we go with some nutritious and delicious snacks that are easy to prepare for all of us from children to adults.

  • Baked tortilla chips: Cut corn tortillas into 4 pieces, sprinkle with cumin, bake them and enjoy them with blenderized beans topped with low-fat shredded cheese.
  • Do not forget the king of the south -avocado- for the spicy guacamole, it is a must to have for the Super Bowl.Get plenty of guacamole because one never gets enough of it.  Make your own veggie pizza with low fat cheese; bake the chicken wings, instead of deep frying.
  • Hummus is another favorite as a dip for baked tortilla chips.
  • For something sweet: prepare a bowl of jicama sticks with a dip made with low-fat yogurt and your favorite fruit.

In this way, even if we spend longer than 2 hours sitting and watching the game, we maintain our goals of eating healthier throughout.  In good health!
